General Basketball Information

Players are eligible for RHAA basketball if:

• They are 12 – 18 years of age as of September 1.
• They are homeschooled. High school homeschooled students doing dual-enrollment college courses while living at home are still eligible as long as they are still 18 (or younger). Once a student is a regular college student, even though living at home, he/she is not eligible for RHAA sports.

Teams are selected based on ability rather than age; the best players form the competitive varsity team, and then the rest of the players are on the junior team.

Open gyms and registration generally start in October, with regular practices beginning in late October/early November. Games begin around Thanksgiving time, with the bulk of games being played in December, January and February.

Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. We use Rolla public school facilities and other facilities in Rolla and St. James, and have to work around their game schedules, so there are exceptions to the regular schedule.
